Red and Green

This image was captured down in Philly, near Boat House Row. My wife and I were taking a stroll along the river when I saw these huge red leaves sticking out among a wall of green. I'm doing a little project for myself, involving capturing my interpritation of random words that were given to me from friends. I chose this image to represent the word "Red".

Bare Teeth

A while ago, my wife and I took a "sick" day, and headed to downtown Philly for a day out, taking in the sites that we never take time to see...even though they'r eminutes away from where we live. As we wondered around, we came across this guy out in the open. Ther ewasn't a marker or plate to tell us any information, and it looked like part of the statue was missing. So, I played the part of a Gladiator and took a shot where the big cat was looking.... I think it came out kinda cool.

Battleship New Jersey

About a minuite after taking the shot of traffic, I came to the end of the South Street bridge and was looking at a cool night time scene of the Battleship New Jersey. It was also cool, at least to me, that there was another boat, being pushed by a tug boat, crossing the path. The starburst effect on the lights are a neat effect, produced naturally.

Highway Headlights

A few weeks ago, I was hired to photograph a wedding reception down on South Street in Philadelphia. After all was said and done, I headed across the South Street bridge towards the parking lot where my car was waiting for me. As I got a third of the way across the bridge, I was looking down at the traffic cruising below me. I've always wanted to grab a shot like this, so I braced my camera against a fence and opened up the shutter.

On a day trip to downtown Philadelphia, my wife and I got to visit a lot of places I've never beem to before, even though I live minutes away. For this shot, we were in the Philadelphia Free Library. I was going for a particular shot for a personal project, when this scene presented itself. I'm a firm believer in the idea that, although many good images set up (scheduled, positioned, etc.)...the best images are captured by chance. I looked down from the second floor of the library and saw this woman cleaning the steps. I snapped the shot, then looked around and thought "She works hard for her pay, around the many visitors that will usually pay her very little or no attention at all." Well, I hope this image and little posting serves as a "Thank You" for doing a good job.
